Analysis Summary
What DAIS-10 measures against each selected standard
SCOPE NOTE
DAIS-10 measures identification, completeness, and structural integrity of your dataset against each standard. It does not verify value truthfulness, legal validity of consent, regulatory registration status, or cross-border transfer obligations. Implementation of any findings is the sole responsibility of the data owner.

03 · GUIDE
How to use DAIS-10
Complete walkthrough from upload to results. Follow these steps for the most accurate governance analysis.
Step 1 — Prepare your data file
Start with a clean CSV or JSON file. DAIS-10 works best when column names are descriptive —
patient_id rather than col1.GOOD COLUMN NAMES

Free tier: up to 999 rows, 19 columns, 1MB · Pro: up to 49,999 rows, 199 columns, 10MB
Step 2 — Upload and select your domain
Drop your file onto the upload zone. Select the domain that matches your dataset — this is the single most important configuration decision. Domain determines which fields DAIS-10 treats as Essential.
Healthcare
HIPAA standard
Finance
SOX standard
E-commerce
PCI-DSS standard
ML / AI
EU AI Act standard
Step 3 — Define your column schema
After upload, every detected column appears in a table with DAIS-10 inferred tier and importance — shown greyed until you confirm them. Review each row and adjust if the inference is wrong for your dataset.
E
Essential — importance ~95
Missing value collapses row score. Use for primary identifiers and legally required fields.
EC
Semi-Essential — importance ~80
Important but conditional. Missing value significantly reduces row score.
C
Contextual — importance ~58
Adds context. Missing reduces score moderately.
N
Enrichment — importance ~18
Metadata or audit fields. Missing has minimal impact on score.
Use Confirm All to accept all inferred values at once, or confirm each row individually. At least one confirmed column is required to proceed.
Step 4 — Select compliance standards and retention
Tick the compliance standards you want to evaluate against. Your domain pre-selects the most likely standard. Selecting a standard with a fixed retention period auto-fills the years field.
GDPR — leave retention years blank or enter your organisation's purpose-specific period.
HIPAA — auto-fills 6 years (§164.530(j) minimum).
SOX — auto-fills 7 years (Section 802).
PCI-DSS — auto-fills 1 year online.
EU AI Act — auto-fills 10 years (Art.12).
IEC 61508 — enter your system's operational life plus 10 years.
HIPAA — auto-fills 6 years (§164.530(j) minimum).
SOX — auto-fills 7 years (Section 802).
PCI-DSS — auto-fills 1 year online.
EU AI Act — auto-fills 10 years (Art.12).
IEC 61508 — enter your system's operational life plus 10 years.
Set the timestamp column if your dataset has a creation date — this enables temporal decay scoring so older rows receive lower freshness scores.
Step 5 — Run and read your results
Click Proceed to Analysis then Run DAIS-10 Analysis. Results appear in 8 tabs:
COLUMN SCHEMA
Tier, importance, AMD pass rate, VCL validity score per column
BEST / WORST ROWS
Top and bottom rows by governance score with top contributor
CAP EVENTS
Rows where one field is bottlenecking the score — missing, invalid, or expired
AMD DIAGNOSTICS
22 automated tests per column — pass, warn, fail breakdown
CONFORMANCE
Gap analysis against selected standards — present vs missing mandatory fields
CCM
Cross-column contradictions — date logic, age/DOB, negative amounts
